नवी दिल्ली - पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदींनी आज ज्येष्ठ भाजप नेते लालकृष्ण आडवाणी यांची त्यांच्या ९२ व्या वाढदिवसानिमित्त भेट घेतली. उपराष्ट्रपती व्यंकैय्या नायडू, भाजप अध्यक्ष आणि केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शाह, भाजपचे कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष जे. पी. नड्डा यांनीही उपस्थित राहून आडवाणींना शुभेच्छा दिल्या.

आडवाणी यांचा जन्म ८ नोव्हेंबर १९२७ मध्ये कराची येथे झाला होता. त्यांनी १९९८ ते २००४ दरम्यान भाजप-प्रणित रालोआ सरकारमध्ये गृहमंत्रीपद भूषवले होते. तसेच, अटल बिहारी वाजपेयींच्या नेतृत्वाखालील सरकारमध्ये ते २००२ ते २००४ मध्ये उपपंतप्रधानपदीही होते.
आडवाणींनी राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघाचा कार्यकर्ता म्हणून स्वतःच्या राजकीय कारकीर्दीला सुरुवात केली. २०१५ मध्ये त्यांना भारतातील पद्मविभूषण या दुसऱ्या क्रमांकाच्या नागरी पुरस्काराने सन्मानित करण्यात आले.
