कर्नाटक विधानसभेच्या १७ अपात्र आमदारांना पोटनिवडणुक लढवण्याची परवानगी दिल्याने माजी मुख्यमंत्री एच.डी कुमारस्वामी यांनी नाराजी व्यक्त केली आहे. काही राजकीय नेते घटनात्मक संस्थांचा गैरफायदा घेत आहेत, असा आरोप त्यांनी अप्रत्यक्षपणे भाजपवर केला.

कर्नाटकामधील विधानसभा अध्यक्षांनी अपात्र ठरवलेले काँग्रेस आणि जेडीएसचे १७ आमदार पोटनिवडणूक लढवू शकतात, असा निर्णय सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने दिला आहे. कर्नाटक विधानसभेचे तत्कालीन अध्यक्ष आर. के. रमेश कुमार यांनी १७ आमदारांना अपात्र ठरवले होते. त्यानंतर आमदारांनी सर्वोच्च न्यायालयात धाव घेतली होती.

१३ महिन्यांचे काँग्रेस- जेडीएस सरकार १७ आमदारांच्या राजीनाम्यानंतर अडचणीत आले होते. बहुमताअभावी कुमारस्वामी यांना मुख्यमंत्री पदावरून उतार व्हावे लागले होते. त्यानंतर भाजपने कर्नाटकात सत्ता स्थापन केली. जुलै महिन्यात कर्नाटकमध्ये हा सत्तापेच सुरु होता. राजीनामा दिलेले आमदार महाराष्ट्रातही काही दिवस मु्क्कामाला होते. कुमारस्वामी सरकारला विधानसभेमध्ये बहुमत सिद्ध करता आले नाही. त्यामुळे त्यांना राजीनामा दिल्यानंतर बी. एस. येडियुरप्पा यांनी सरकार स्थापन केले.
