नवी दिल्ली - नागरिकत्व सुधारणा कायद्याविरोधामध्ये देशभरात आंदोलन सुरू आहेत. रविवारी काँग्रेस नेता शशी थरूर जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया विद्यापीठातील आंदोलनस्थळी पोहोचले. यावेळी नागरिकत्व सुधारणा कायदा लोकशाहीविरोधी आणि भेदभावपूर्ण आहे. हा कायदा भारतीय लोकशाहीवरील एक डाग आहे, असे थरुर म्हणाले. मात्र, यावेळी काही आंदोलकांनी त्यांचा विरोध केला.

शशी थरूर यांनी नागरिकत्व सुधारणा कायद्याविरोधी आंदोलनातील इस्लामी घोषणाचा विरोध केला होता. 'हिंदुत्ववादाविरूद्धच्या लढ्यात इस्लामिक अतिरेकीपणालाही स्थान मिळू नये. सीएए आणि एनआरसीविरूद्ध आवाज उठवणारी लोक सर्वसमावेशक भारतासाठी लढा देत आहेत. कोणत्याही प्रकारच्या धार्मिक कट्टरतेला भारतातील विविधतेची जागा घेऊ देणार नाही', असे टि्वट थरूर यांनी केले होते. या टि्वटमुळे काही आंदोलकांनी त्यांचा विरोध केला. मिलिया इस्लामिया विद्यापीठासह दिल्लीतील शाहीन बाग भागात सुमारे महिनाभरापासून सीएए कायद्याचा निषेध सुरू आहे. मुस्लिमबहुल वस्तीतल्या महिला दिल्लीच्या कडाकाच्या थंडीत दिवस-रात्र बसून CAA विरोधात निदर्शनं करत आहेत. हा कायदा राज्यघटनेच्या विरोधात असल्याचं त्यांचं म्हणणं आहे. सीएए कायद्यावरून विरोधक मोदी सरकारवर टीक करत आहेत. तर सीएए' समर्थनार्थ भाजप अभियान राबवत आहे.
