മലേഷ്യ : സുൽത്താൻ ഓഫ് ജോഹർ കപ്പ് ജൂനിയർ ഹോക്കി ടൂർണമെന്‍റിൽ ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കു കിരീടം. ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലേക്ക് നീണ്ട ആവേശോജ്വലമായ ഫൈനലിൽ കരുത്തരായ ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയെ 5-4ന് തോൽപ്പിച്ചാണ് ഇന്ത്യ കിരീടമണിഞ്ഞത്. ജോഹർ കപ്പിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മൂന്നാം കിരീടമാണിത്. 2104ലാണ് ഇന്ത്യ അവസാനമായി ജേതാക്കളായത്.

നിശ്ചിത സമയത്ത് ഇരുടീമുകളും 1-1 ന് സമനിലയിൽ പിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് വിജയിയെ കണ്ടെത്താൻ ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. മത്സരത്തിന്‍റെ 14-ാം മിനിട്ടിൽ ഇന്ത്യയാണ് ആദ്യ ഗോൾ സ്വന്തമാക്കിയത്. സുദീപ് ചിർമാകോയുടെ വകയായിരുന്നു ഗോൾ. എന്നാൽ അധികം വൈകാതെ 29-ാം മിനിട്ടിൽ ജാക്ക് ഹോളണ്ടിലൂടെ ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയ മറുപടി ഗോൾ നേടി.
രണ്ടാം പകുതിയിലും ഇരു ടീമുകളും ഗോളുകൾക്കായി ശ്രമങ്ങൾ തുടർന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. നിരവധി അവസരങ്ങൾ ഇരുവർക്കും ലഭിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഗോളാക്കി മാറ്റാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല. ഇതോടെ മത്സരം ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലേക്ക് നീണ്ടു.
ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിൽ 3–3 സമനില തുടർന്നതോടെ മത്സരം സഡൻ ഡെത്തിലേക്കു കടന്നു. ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ താരം ജോഷ്വയുടെ അഞ്ചാം ഷോട്ട് ഗോൾകീപ്പർ മോഹിത് കുമാർ തടുത്തിട്ടതോടെ ഇന്ത്യ വിജയമുറപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
