മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയെ രാഷ്‌ട്രപിതാവായി താൻ കണുന്നില്ല; ഇന്ത്യ പോലൊരു രാജ്യത്തിന് ഒരു രാഷ്‌ട്രപിതാവ് മാത്രമല്ല ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതെന്നും സവർക്കറുടെ ചെറുമകൻ.

ഹൈദരാബാദ്: മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി ഇന്ത്യയുടെ രാഷ്‌ട്രപിതാവല്ലെന്ന വിവാദ പരാമർശവുമായി സവർക്കറുടെ ചെറുമകൻ രഞ്ജിത്ത് സവർക്കർ. മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയെ രാഷ്‌ട്രപിതാവായി താൻ കണുന്നില്ലെന്നും രഞ്ജിത്ത് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇന്ത്യപോലൊരു രാജ്യത്തിന് ഒരു രാഷ്‌ട്രപിതാവ് മാത്രമല്ല ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടത്. വിസ്‌മരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ആയിരങ്ങളുണ്ടെന്നും രഞ്ജിത്ത് സവർക്കർ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

രാജ്യത്തിന് അമ്പത് വർഷത്തെ പഴക്കമല്ല, അഞ്ഞൂറ് വർഷത്തെ പഴക്കമാണുള്ളതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.

സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനു ശേഷം വീർ സവർക്കറെ അപകീർത്തിപ്പെടുത്താൻ വലിയ രീതിയിൽ പ്രചാരണമുണ്ടായെന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രീയ സ്വയംസേവക സംഘം മേധാവി മോഹൻ ഭാഗവത് പ്രസ്താവന നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയുടെ നിർദേശപ്രകാരമാണ് സവർക്കർ ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരോട് മാപ്പ് ചോദിച്ചുവെന്ന കേന്ദ്ര പ്രതിരോധമന്ത്രി രാജ്‌നാഥ് സിങിന്‍റെ പരാമർശവും വലിയ വിവാദമായി.

ഇതിനെതിരെ എഐഎംഐഎം നേതാവ് അസദുദ്ദീൻ ഒവൈസി രംഗത്തെത്തിയിരുന്നു. ബിജെപി ചരിത്രം വളച്ചൊടിക്കുകയാണെന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ തുടരുകയാണെങ്കിൽ സവർക്കറെ ബിജെപി രാഷ്ട്രപിതാവായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുമെന്നും ഒവൈസി പ്രതികരിച്ചു. ഇതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് രഞ്ജിത്ത് സവർക്കറുടെ വിവാദ പ്രസ്‌താവന.
