പിടികിട്ടാപ്പുളളിയായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച വ്യവസായ പ്രമുഖൻ വിജയ് മല്യയെ ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചയക്കാൻ ബ്രിട്ടൻ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അനുവാദം നൽകി. മല്യയെ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് കൈമാറാനുളള കോടതി ഉത്തരവ് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ആഭ്യന്തര സെക്രട്ടറി അംഗീകരിച്ചു. വിധിക്കെതിരെ മേൽക്കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കാൻ മല്യക്ക് അവസരമുണ്ട്. കോടതി വിധി വന്നതിന് പിന്നാലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ എംബസി മല്യയെ വിട്ടുകിട്ടാൻ ബ്രീട്ടീഷ് സർക്കാരിനെ സമീപിച്ചിരുന്നു.
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഒമ്പതിനായിരം കോടി രൂപ വായ്പാ കുടിശിക വരുത്തിയശേഷമായിരുന്നു മല്യ രാജ്യം വിട്ട് ബ്രിട്ടനിൽ പോയത്. മല്യയെ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് വിട്ടുകിട്ടണമെന്ന ആവശ്യം ലണ്ടൻ കോടതി നേരത്തെ അംഗീകരിച്ചിരുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് കളളപ്പണം വെളുപ്പിക്കൽ നിരേധന നിയമപ്രകാരം മല്യയെ പിടികിട്ടാപ്പുളളിയായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കണമെന്ന എൻഫോഴ്സ്മെന്റിന്റെ ആവശ്യവും കോടതി അംഗീകരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇതോടെ സാമ്പത്തിക തട്ടിപ്പു കേസിൽ അന്തിമവിധിക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കാതെ തന്നെ മല്യയുടെ സ്വത്തുക്കൾ കണ്ടുകെട്ടാനാകും .
