മുംബൈ: രാജ്യത്ത് ഉള്ളിവില കുതിച്ചുയരുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ളി മോഷണവും പെരുകുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം മുംബൈയിലെ പച്ചക്കറി മാര്‍ക്കറ്റില്‍ രണ്ട് കടകളില്‍ നിന്നായി 21,000 രൂപയുടെ ഉള്ളി മോഷണം പോയി. സംഭവത്തില്‍ പൊലീസ് രണ്ട് പേരെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്‌തു. ഡോംഗ്രി മാര്‍ക്കറ്റില്‍ പച്ചക്കറി വില്‍പന നടത്തുന്ന അക്‌ബര്‍ ഷെ്യ്‌ഖ്, ഇര്‍ഫാൻ ഷെയ്ഖ് എന്നിവരുടെ കടകളില്‍ നിന്ന് 168 കിലോ ഉള്ളിയാണ് മോഷണം പോയത്. പരാതിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ പൊലീസ് സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി അന്വേഷണം നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. മാര്‍ക്കറ്റിലെ സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ പരിശോധിച്ചതില്‍ നിന്നാണ് പ്രതികളെ തരിച്ചറിയാനായത്. സാബിർ ഷെയ്ഖ്, ഇമ്രാൻ ഷെ്യ്‌ഖ് എന്നിവരാണ് പൊലീസിന്‍റെ പിടിയിലായത്. സേവ്രി, ബൈസുള്ള, ഡോംഗ്രി തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും ഇവര്‍ ഉള്ളി മോഷണം നടത്തിയിരുന്നതായി പൊലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു.

The skyrocketing prices of onion have led to a theft of around 168 kg of onions in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The incident happened in the Dongri market on Tuesday when two stall owners found that their onion stocks stored in the stalls had gone missing.
Akbar Shaikh and Irfan Shaikh both run vegetable stalls at the Dongri vegetable market. On Sunday, when Akbar and Irfan opened their stalls, they found that onion stored in gunny bags were missing. Akbar had kept around 112 kg of onions while Irfan had around 56 kg of onions in the stall on the earlier day.
After the search for onions didn't yield any result, Akbar and Irfan approached Dongri police. A case of theft was registered against unidentified persons at Dongri police station.
Dongri police officials conducted a punchnama at the spot from where the onion had gone missing and checked CCTV footages from shops and stalls outside the market to identify the accused.
The CCTV footage were circulated amongst informers which helped the cops nab the accused. The cops received a tip-off about one of the suspects identified as 33-year-old Sabir Shaikh. Upon interrogation, Sabir confessed to his crime and named his two partners -- Imran Shaikh and Sabir - who had helped him in the crime.
The duo had committed similar thefts of onions in Byculla, Sewri, Dongri, and Wadala since the price of onions skyrocketed.
