ಕೇರಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುದುಚೆರಿ ತಂಡಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ನಡೆದ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕನಸು ನನಸು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. 37ರ ಹರೆಯದ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಪುದುಚೆರಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 2ನೇ ಓವರ್ ಎಸೆಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಬೌಲಿಂಗ್ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.

ಹೈದರಾಬಾದ್: ಸುದೀರ್ಘ 7 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಎಸ್ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್‌ಗೆ ಕಮ್‌ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸೈಯದ್ ಮುಷ್ತಾಕ್ ಅಲಿ ಟ್ರೋಫಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಕೇರಳ ಪರ ಕಣಕ್ಕಿಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 4 ಓವರ್‌ ಮಾಡಿದ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ 7.20 ಎಕಾನಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 29 ರನ್​ ನೀಡಿ ಒಂದು ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.

2013ರ ಐಪಿಎಲ್ ಸ್ಪಾಟ್ ಫಿಕ್ಸಿಂಗ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿಕೊಂಡ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಆಜೀವ ನಿಷೇಧಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬಳಿಕ ಕಾನೂನು ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು 7 ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಳೆದ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ನಿಷೇಧ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್‌ಗೆ ಮರಳಲು ಕಠಿಣ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ನಡೆಸಿ ಕೇರಳ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸೈಯದ್ ಮುಷ್ತಾಕ್ ಅಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಣಕ್ಕಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಪಂದ್ಯದ ನಂತರ, ಶ್ರೀಶಾಂತ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. "ಎಲ್ಲರ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಾಗಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು .. ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ .. ಶುಭಾಶಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು." ಎಂದು ಬರೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
