ಏಕದಿನ ಸರಣಿಯ ಮೊದಲ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ 20 ರನ್ಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪಂತ್ ಎರಡನೇ ಏಕದಿನ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಎಸೆತದಲ್ಲೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಡೆತಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿ ವಿಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದರು. 21 ವರ್ಷದ ಪಂತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಫೋಟಕ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ಮನ್ ಎಂಬುದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಚಾರ. ಆದರೆ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕ ಘಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ನಡೆಸುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ಬಂದ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಡೆತಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕಿ ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳು ಟೀಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
