ಸ್ವಿಜರ್ಲೆಂಡ್​ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಬಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯುಎಫ್‌ ವಿಶ್ವ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್‌ಶಿಪ್‌ ಫೈನಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಯಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪಿ.ವಿ.ಸಿಂಧು ತಡರಾತ್ರಿ ತವರಿಗೆ ವಾಪಸಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನವದೆಹಲಿಯ ಇಂದಿರಾ ಗಾಂಧಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಸಿಂಧು ಅವರನ್ನ ಭರ್ಜರಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಬಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಎಫ್ ವಿಶ್ವ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್‌ಶಿಪ್ ಗೆದ್ದ ಮೊದಲ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಶಟ್ಲರ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾದ ನಂತರ ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪದಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಯಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದರು.
