భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీని ఓడించేందుకు చేసే త్యాగాలన్నీ గొప్పవేనని కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షుడు ట్విట్టర్లో వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. గుజరాత్లో జరిగిన కాంగ్రెస్ వర్కింగ్ కమిటీ సమావేశానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు రాహుల్.

రాష్ట్రీయ స్వయం సేవక్ సంఘ్(ఆర్ఎస్ఎస్), భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీల ద్వేష భావజాలాన్ని ఓడించటానికి చేసే ఏ త్యాగమైనా గొప్పదేనని ట్వీట్ చేశారు కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షుడు రాహుల్ గాంధీ. గుజరాత్ అహ్మదాబాద్లోని సర్దార్ పటేల్ నేషనల్ మెమోరియాల్లో జరిగిన కాంగ్రెస్ వర్కింగ్ కమిటీ సమావేశానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు రాహుల్.
ఈ సమావేశంలో యూపీఏ ఛైర్పర్సన్ సోనియా గాంధీ, ప్రియాంక గాంధీ, మాజీ ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్ సింగ్తో పాటు పార్టీ ముఖ్యనేతలు పాల్గొన్నారు. లోక్సభ ఎన్నికల వ్యూహాలపై చర్చించారు. కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి ప్రియాంక గాంధీ అధికారికంగా హాజరైన మొదటి భేటీ నేడు జరిగిన సీడబ్ల్యూసీ సమావేశమే.

సమావేశానికి ముందు మహత్మాగాంధీకి నివాళులర్పించారు కాంగ్రెస్ నేతలు. 1930 సంవత్సరంలో ఈ రోజే అంటే మే 12నే చారిత్రక దండి యాత్ర ప్రారంభమైంది.
మోదీ విధానాలతో బాధపడుతున్నారు : సోనియా
ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్రమోదీ తప్పుడు విధానాల వల్ల దేశ ప్రజలు బాధపడుతున్నారని యూపీఏ ఛైర్పర్సన్ సోనియా గాంధీ అన్నారు. దేశ భద్రతను రాజకీయ చేస్తున్నారని విమర్శించారు. గత యూపీఏ ప్రభుత్వ విజయాలను ఉటంకించారు.
వ్యవసాయ రంగ సంక్షోభం, పారిశ్రామిక వృద్ధి తగ్గిపోవటం, నిరుద్యోగం లాంటి అంశాలపై మాజీ ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ ప్రసంగించారు.

"Moving away from the conventional Kannon statues, we succeeded in creating a Kannon which can convey messages to people interactively. What's different from usual is the mechanic parts laid bare, which leaves place for people to reflect their own views of it using their imagination. We believe we built a robotic Kannon, which can deliver a complicated message."

LEADIN:
A robot is drawing worshippers to a temple in Kyoto, Japan, by delivering the teachings of Buddha.
Named "Minder", it's based on Kannon Bodhisattva, the Goddess of Mercy, but with a futuristic look.
STORYLINE:
Visitors to Kodaiji Temple in Kyoto sit in a dimly-lit hall and listen to the teachings of Buddha - delivered by a talking robot.
Using hand gestures and eye contact, "Minder" teaches Buddhist philosophy and chants the Heart Sutra in Japanese.
Subtitles in English and Chinese are projected on the walls.
Minder was born from a collaboration between Kodaiji Temple and Osaka University professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, a famed roboticist, and his team.
Tensho Goto, the chief steward of the temple, approached Ishiguro two and half years ago. The production of Minder started a year later.
"For the last dozen years, with the development of AI and robot technology, I've been thinking it'd be okay if we have Buddha transformed into robots," says 70-year-old Tensho Goto.
"Also, I thought robots could think and give sermons or do various things, and in the future be able to do more than what we, monks, can do."
The goddess Kannon is believed to appear in any type of form. Goto believes this robotic Kannon will have a positive effect on the viewers.
"Various Buddhist statues have been made, but they were all just Buddhist images, like a figure standing or sitting," he says
"But this time, I wanted to create a Buddhist statue which can speak, with eye contact, and which can answer questions, so that people can feel closer to it."
Kohei Ogawa, an associate professor at Osaka University and a research member of Ishiguro's lab, claims the robots actually fit the role as Kannon.
"Moving away from the conventional Kannon statues, we succeeded in creating a Kannon which can convey messages to people interactively," he says.
"What's different from usual is the mechanic parts laid bare, which leaves place for people to reflect their own views of it using their imagination. We believe we built a robotic Kannon, which can deliver a complicated message."
Minder was designed to be seen as either male or female.
For instance, silver tubes represent a woman's back, while its mechanical shoulders look masculine.
Ogawa says that robots are necessary tools when it comes to culture, customs and religion.
"If robots with a strong presence like this say things like; 'We had these tough things happened in the past, don't you agree?', then people understand it was tough," he says.
"If it's just a cute robot, it won't help. For culture, tradition and religion, things that we have cultivated that are difficult to translate, we actually need these kind of robots."
Visitor Ryosuke Itabashi, says he found Minder appealing.
"It's futuristic, especially with the projection mapping. And the way that the android Kannon speaks like a real person made me, personally, feel close to it," he says.
Another visitor, Yurie Matsuo, says she was unsure of the robot at first.
"I thought it would be a little scary, but then I actually came to see it and found its face beautiful," she says.

Chief steward of the temple, Tensho Goto hopes Minder will be the first of many.

The robot's body is 195 centimetres tall and weighs 60 kilograms.
It's made primarily from stainless steel, with a silicone face and hands.
It cost tens of millions of yen to make. Minder will be on display to the public until 6 May.
