సార్వత్రిక ఎన్నికల ఓట్ల లెక్కింపులో.. ముందుగా వీవీ ప్యాట్లనే లెక్కించాలంటూ దాఖలైన పిటిషన్​ను హైకోర్టు తోసిపుచ్చింది.

ఓట్ల లెక్కింపు అంశంపై దాఖలైన పిటిషన్ మీద... హైకోర్టులో వాదనలు ముగిశాయి. ఈవీఎంల కంటే ముందే వీవీప్యాట్లు లెక్కించాలన్న పిటిషన్​ను న్యాయస్థానం తోసిపుచ్చింది. ఈ అంశంపై... న్యాయవాది బాలాజీ వేసిన హౌస్‌మోషన్ పిటిషన్ మీద.. మంగళగిరిలోని న్యాయమూర్తి జస్టిస్ శ్యామ్‌ప్రసాద్ నివాసంలో దాదాపు 5 గంటలపాటు వాదనలు కొనసాగాయి. ఓట్ల లెక్కింపులో పొరపాటు జరిగే అవకాశం లేదన్న ఈసీ తరఫు న్యాయవాది వాదనతో.. న్యాయమూర్తి ఏకీభవించారు. తక్కువ సమయం ఉన్నందున ఎలాంటి ఆదేశాలు ఇవ్వలేమని స్పష్టం చేశారు. పిటిషన్​ను తోసిపుచ్చారు.

"So I think there is nothing wrong with laughing at extreme violence in this particular case. And I do think that during the premiere I observed Quentin Tarantino actually laugh out loud like a little kid and I thought that's not because he is laughing at that particular form of violence, but I think he laughed because he understood what I was trying to do and he got it and I think that is a great way of thinking about violence. Sometimes it is like an installation piece which I am trying to put into my film. That installation might be in the form of, in this particular case, the umbrella scene, it is almost as if a flower grew out of someone's back and the flower is this big red dahlia that somehow just blossomed from someone's back. And also you can see this as an instillation of someone who is an injured angel. Someone who is being penetrated by its own arrow."

"I do think there is a sense of validation that I now know as a filmmaker what kind of things I can and want to make and I do think that the success I had in Berlin really validated my ideas and vision of being someone who is making films that are genre driven, especially the noir genre as a way to express myself and, of course, that comes with pressure but I also think that at the same time that will force me to actually make better films going forward as a filmmaker."

"Because I do respect the characters, like the ones that we see in this particular film. These are the people, the small time criminals that are being marginalized by laws, are being chased after by the law enforcement and I do think even with people like them, they possess certain qualities that we, I mean people who are not criminals who are on the run from the law, from authorities, that we also have something that we share in common and that is why I find this particular storyline very, very interesting just because we can see ourselves in that particular characters someone who is so outside of the realm of legality, outside the realm of ethics but at the same time we still have something in common."

"So I do think that it has a lot to do with the characters that I am developing and trying to portray in this particular film. That leads to all of the locations that we have selected. As you mentionedm they are dilapidated but also vivid and memorable at the same time. There is some life to even the most dilapidated and most ruined parts that you can see in the suburban area of the major cities in China and that also creates this dreamlike quality to them that I think is perfect for this particular journey of the character, that he embarked on. He is on the run and that is the reason why he also goes to the darkest corners, places to hide and I think that makes sense logically and also visually it is very striking."

STORYLINE:
DIRECTOR DIAO YINAN SAID HE SAW QUENTIN TARANTINO LAUGHING 'LIKE A LITTLE KID' AT A SCREENING OF HIS MOVIE 'THE WILD GOOSE LAKE'
The violence in Diao Yinan's latest movie amused fellow director Quentin Tarantino.
Tarantino, whose film "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" is competing against Chinese director Yinan's "The Wild Goose Lake" for the Cannes Film Festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or, couldn't contain his amusement as he attended the premiere of Yinan's movie.
"I think there is nothing wrong with laughing at extreme violence, in this particular case," he said, "And I do think that during the premiere I observed Quentin Tarantino actually laugh out loud like a little kid and I thought that is not because he is laughing at that particular form of violence but I think he laughed because he understood what I was trying to do and he got it and I think that is a great way of thinking about violence."
Diao Yinan's movie "Black Coal, Thin Ice" won the top prize at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival. He said receiving the accolade provided him with a sense of "validation."
"I now know as a filmmaker what kind of things I can and want to make and I do think that the success I had in Berlin really validated my ideas and vision of being someone who is making films that are genre driven,"he said.
"The Wild Goose Lake" follows two members of the criminal underworld not only running away from the law, but from other criminals pursuing them to receive the bounty on their heads.
"I do think even with people like them, they possess certain qualities that we, I mean people who are not criminals, who are on the run from the law, from authorities, that we also have something that we share in common," he mused. "And that is why I find this particular storyline very very interesting just because we can see ourselves in that particular characters someone who is so outside of the realm of legality, outside the realm of ethics but at the same time we still have something in common."
"The Wild Goose Lake" is showing in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
