Ghaziabad (UP): A lot of awareness about single use plastic can be witnessed in Ghaziabad, which is called the heart of Delhi NCR. The district administration and the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation have been making the residents aware of the use of single-use plastic since a long time through campaigns and rallies.
Ghaziabad is the first district in Uttar Pradesh where 3 roads have been constructed using single use plastic. Impressed by the campaign being run by the district administration and the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, traders are handing over the single use plastics to the district administration and the municipal corporation.
One ton of plastic has been handed over to the district administration by the four junk mongers of the city, as well as the single plastic trade has also been abandoned by these junk mongers.
Three plastic roads have been constructed by Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation within 1 month. The Municipal Corporation will organize a Maha rally to sensitise the residents against the use of single use plastic.
A utensil bank has been set up by the Municipal Corporation. There are steel utensils in this utensil bank, which the general public can use on the occasion of festivals and community feasts.
