People make bricks and vase out of plastic in Himachal
Summary
On behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has launched a special campaign to make the country free of polythene. Under this plan, awareness is being spread among the citizens about the hazards of using polythene.
Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh): On one hand, in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, people are worried about the menace of polythene while on the other hand, many institutions have come forward to help them get rid of polythene.
One such effort is being done in Baru Sahib under the Lana bhalta Panchayat of Sirmaur district.Under Solid Waste Management, Kalgidhar Trust in Baru Sahib has installed a carriage to collect plastic waste from all the nearby panchayats.
These vehicles bring garbage here and after that, garbage is first segregated. Then polythene and plastic are melted to make bricks and tiles from them which are used in many construction works within these panchayats.
Apart from this, things like paper bags, file covers are also being prepared from other garbage materials.
Poly bricks and vases are being made from plastic bottles
Beautiful vases are also being made from plastic bottles in Baru Sahib's plant. Everyone is actively engaged here to eliminate plastic from their area. Material made from this can also be used for constructing pavements.
Pradhan of Lana Bhalta Panchayat Rupinder Kaur said that plastic and polythene are being used in many ways in Baru Sahib. Along with this, she also described the plastic-free campaign initiated by PM Narendra Modi as commendable.
Plastic items will be used in Panchayat
At the same time, local people said that all the plastic and other wastes from the panchayat are first sent to Baru Sahib. The goods manufactured there get used in the panchayat.
Due to this, where all the panchayats are becoming polythene free, the dream of cleanliness will also soon be realised.
It is to be noted that a worthwhile effort is being made in Baru Sahib of Sirmaur district regarding the use of polythene. This way people are trying to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream of plastic free India come true.
With this, where plastic is being used in other products, a message is also being given that we have to free ourselves from the use of polythene.
