ଅଟଳ ବିହାରୀ ବାଜପେୟୀ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିଥିଲେ ଦିବସ: ଦେଶର ପୂର୍ବତନ ପ୍ରଧାନମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅଟଳ ବିହାରୀ ବାଜପେୟୀଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା 2002 ମସିହାରେ ପ୍ରବାସୀ ଭାରତୀୟ ଦିବସ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଥିଲା । 2002 ମସିହା ଠାରୁ ଏହି ଦିବସ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଉଛି । ପରିସଂଖ୍ୟାନ ଅନୁସାରେ, ପ୍ରାୟ 48ଟି ଦେଶରେ ରହିଛନ୍ତି ଭାରତୀୟ । ଏହି ପ୍ରବାସୀ ଭାରତୀୟଙ୍କ ସଂଖ୍ୟା ପ୍ରାୟ 2 କୋଟି ଅଟେ । ଭାରତୀୟ ଅର୍ଥନୀତିରେ ପ୍ରବାସୀ ଭାରତୀୟଙ୍କ ଭୂମିକା ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଗୁରୁତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।

ସେହିପରି ବୈଦେଶିକ ବ୍ୟାପାର ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଏସ୍ ଜୟଶଙ୍କର ସୋସିଆଲ ମିଡିଆ ଏକ୍ସରେ ପୋଷ୍ଟ କରି କହିଛନ୍ତି, "ପ୍ରବାସୀ ଭାରତୀୟ ଦିବସ ଅବସରରେ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଶ୍ବରେ ରହିଥିବା ଭାରତୀୟଙ୍କୁ ଶୁଭେଚ୍ଛା । ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କ ସଫଳତା ପାଇଁ ଆମେ ଗର୍ବିତ । ବିଶ୍ବ ସ୍ତରରେ ଭାରତର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା ବୃଦ୍ଧିରେ ପ୍ରବାସୀମାନଙ୍କର ଉତ୍କୃଷ୍ଟ ଅବଦାନ ରହିଛି ।"
