ସୂଚନାଥାଉକି, ଗଣମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ଖବର ଅନୁସାରେ କଂଗ୍ରେସର 20 ଜଣ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ନେତା ଦଳ ପାଇଁ ଜଣେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣକାଳୀନ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଚୟନ କରିବାକୁ ସୋନିଆ ଗାନ୍ଧିଙ୍କୁ ଚିଠି ଲେଖିଥିଲେ । ଯାହାକୁ ନେଇ ରାଜନୀତି ଗଳିରେ ଚର୍ଚ୍ଚା ଜୋର ଧରିଛି ।
2019 ମସିହାରେ କଂଗ୍ରେସର ଶୋଚନୀୟ ପରାଜୟ ପରେ ରାହୁଲ ଗାନ୍ଧି କଂଗ୍ରେସ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଦରୁ ଇସ୍ତଫା ଦେଇଥିଲେ । ତାଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସୋନିଆ ଗାନ୍ଧିଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ତରୀଣ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷା ଭାବେ ମନୋନୀତ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା ।
