नवी दिल्ली - झारखंडची युवा धावपटू गीता कुमारीला आर्थिक अडचणीमुळे रामगड जिल्ह्यातील रस्त्यावर भाजीपाला विक्री करावी लागत आहे. गीताने राज्यस्तरीय स्पर्धांमध्ये आठ सुवर्णपदके पटकावली आहेत.
मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन यांना गीताच्या परिस्थितीबद्दल माहिती मिळाली. तेव्हा त्यांनी तिला तात्काळ आर्थिक मदत देऊ केली. यानंतर रामगडचे उपजिल्हाधिकारी संदीप सिंह यांनी गीताला 50 हजार रुपयांचा धनादेश दिला. त्यासोबतच 3000 रुपये मासिक वेतनही जाहीर केले.

गीता हजारीबाग जिल्ह्यातील आनंद कॉलेजमध्ये बीएच्या अंतिम वर्षाची विद्यार्थिनी आहे. तिचे कुटुंब आर्थिक दुर्बल आहे. भाजी विकतानाचा गीताचा फोटो सोशल मीडियावर व्हायरल झाला होता. उपायुक्त म्हणाले, ''रामगडमध्ये असे बरेच खेळाडू आहेत जे देशासाठी यश मिळवण्यास सक्षम आहेत. त्यांना सहकार्य मिळेल याची खात्री प्रशासन प्रशासन करेल.''
कोरानामुळे संपूर्ण जगाची गती मंदावली आहे. या व्हायरसमुळे अनेक देशात लॉकडाऊन घोषित करण्यात आले आहे. अशा परिस्थितीत अनेक देशांची आर्थिक परिस्थितीही बिघडली आहे. त्यामुळे अनेक नामवंत खेळाडू, कलाकारांना बिकट परिस्थितीला तोंड द्यावे लागत आहे.
