'बप्पी दा' नावाने ओळखले जाणारे संगीतकार 69 वर्षांचे होते. गेल्या काही दिवसांपासून ते विविध आजारांनी ग्रस्त होते. निद्रानाशामुळे त्यांचे निधन ( Singer-composer Bappi Lahiri passes away at 69 ) झाल्याचे डॉक्टर दीपक नामजोशी सांगितले. त्यांच्या निधनाने चाहत्यांमध्ये शोककळा पसरली आहे. या महिन्यात बॉलिवूड जगताला एकापाठोपाठ एक मोठे धक्का बसले आहेत. बप्पी लहिरी यांच्या आधी स्वर कोकिळा लता मंगेशकर यांचे 6 फेब्रुवारी रोजी मुंबईतील ब्रीच कँडी रुग्णालयात निधन झाले होते. बप्पी लहिरी यांच्या निधनावर राजकीय नेत्यांपासून सेलिब्रिटींपर्यंत अनेकांनी श्रद्धांजली वाहिली.
आपल्या चाहत्यांमध्ये ते ‘बप्पी दा’ या नावाने लोकप्रिय होते. त्यांनी 70-80च्या दशकात अनेक लोकप्रिय चित्रपटांना संगीत दिले. बप्पी लाहिरी यांनी 1970-80 च्या दशकाच्या उत्तरार्धात चलते चलते, डिस्को डान्सर आणि शराबी सारख्या अनेक चित्रपटांमध्ये लोकप्रिय गाणी दिली. तसेच 'डिस्को डान्सर' या चित्रपटातील गाणी अतिशय लोकप्रिय झाली. तर भंकस नावाचे त्यांचे शेवटचे बॉलिवूड गाणे 2020 मध्ये प्रदर्शित झालेल्या बागी 3 चित्रपटात ऐकायला मिळाले होते. आज त्यानी वयाच्या 69 वर्षी मुंबईत रुग्णालयात अंतिम श्वास घेतला. मागच्या वर्षी एप्रिल महिन्यात कोरोना झाल्याने त्यांना मुंबईतील रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले होते. बप्पी लाहिरी यांच्या पश्चात पत्नी चित्रानी लाहिरी आणि त्यांची मुलगी गायिका रेमा लाहिरी बन्सल असे कुटुंब आहे.
