नवी दिल्ली: मंगळवारी TMC सोडणारे दिग्गज राजकारणी यशवंत सिन्हा यांची सर्व विरोधी पक्षांनी राष्ट्रपतीपदासाठी संयुक्त उमेदवार म्हणून एकमताने निवड केली आहे. राष्ट्रपतीपदाची निवडणूक 18 जुलै रोजी होणार आहे. जेव्हा त्यांना ईटीव्ही भारतने या राजकीय चर्चांबद्दल विचारले तेव्हा सिन्हा यांनी या विषयावर भाष्य करण्यास नकार दिला आणि सांगितले की, सध्या त्यांना काही सांगायचे नाही. योग्यवेळी मी बोलेन.
आदल्या दिवशी, यशवंत सिन्हा यांनी एक ट्विट केले होते. "ममताजींनी तृणमूल काँग्रेसमध्ये मला जो सन्मान आणि प्रतिष्ठा दिली त्याबद्दल मी त्यांचा ऋणी आहे. आता वेळ आली आहे की एका मोठ्या राष्ट्रीय हेतूसाठी मी पक्ष सोडून अधिक विरोधी एकजुटीसाठी काम केले पाहिजे. मला खात्री आहे की त्यांना ते मान्य आहे. पाऊल,” असे ट्विट त्यांनी केले.

एनडीए सरकारमध्ये ममता बॅनर्जी रेल्वे मंत्री असताना माजी अर्थमंत्री वाजपेयींच्या नेतृत्वाखालील मंत्रिमंडळात होते. यशवंत सिन्हा यांनी 2018 मध्ये भाजप सोडला आणि मार्च 2021 मध्ये ममतांच्या छावणीत सामील झाले.
