सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या खंडपीठाने पवनच्या वकीलांना विचारले आहे, की आरोपी त्यावेळी अल्पवयीन असल्याचा मुद्दा आधीच का उपस्थित केला गेला नाही?

नवी दिल्ली - निर्भया प्रकरणातील आरोपी पवन कुमार गुप्ता याने सर्वोच्च न्यायालयात याचिका दाखल केली होती. ज्यावेळी हा गुन्हा घडला, तेव्हा आपण अल्पवयीन होतो. त्यामुळे, आपल्यावर त्याप्रमाणे कारवाई करण्यात यावी, अशी मागणी त्याने केली होती. सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या विशेष खंडपीठासमोर यावर सुनावणी सुरू होती. या खंडपीठामध्ये न्यायमूर्ती आर भानूमती, अशोक भूषण आणि ए. एस. बोपन्ना यांचा समावेश होता.
या प्रकरणातील चारही आरोपींना एक फेब्रुवारीला सकाळी सहा वाजता फाशी होणार आहे, असे दिल्लीतील एका न्यायालयाने जाहीर केले आहे.
