हैदराबाद - तेलंगाणाच्या मुलुगू मतदारसंघाच्या काँग्रेस आमदार ज्या पूर्वाश्रमीच्या माओवादी होत्या, स्थानिक आदिवासींच्या मदतीला धावून आल्या आहेत. लॉकडाऊन लागू असल्याने या आदिवासींना दोन वेळच्या जेवणाची भ्रांत झाली आहे. त्यामुळे त्यांना धान्य, भाजीपाला आणि इतर जीवनावश्यक वस्तूंचे वाटप करण्याचे काम त्या करत आहेत.
सीताक्का असे त्यांचे नाव आहे. आतापर्यंत त्यांनी आदिवासींना सुमारे ३० हजार किलो तांदूळ आणि जवळपास त्याच प्रमाणात भाजीपाला, तेल, डाळी आणि इतर साहित्याचे वाटप केले आहे. गेल्या ३६ दिवसांपासून त्यांनी तब्बल २९६ गावांना भेट देत हे धान्यवाटप केले. यासोबतच पक्षातील त्यांच्या सहकाऱ्यांनी इतर ६० गावांमध्ये धान्यवाटप केले आहे, अशी माहिती सिताक्का यांनी दिली.

तेलंगाणा सरकारने आता राज्यात मास्क घालणे अनिवार्य केले आहे. मात्र, जवळपास महिनाभरापूर्वीच त्याबाबतची मागणी सिताक्कांनी जाहीर केली होती. मुलुगू मतदारसंघामध्ये जवळपास सहाशे गाव आहेत, यांपैकी बहुतांश गावे ही जंगलामध्ये आहेत. त्यांपैकी केवळ ३५६ गावांपर्यंत आम्ही पोहोचलो असून, आम्हाला आणखी बराच पल्ला गाठायचा आहे असेही सिताक्का म्हटल्या.
सिताक्का या मुलुगूमधून दोन वेळा आमदार म्हणून निवडून आल्या आहेत. त्या पूर्वी माओवादी होत्या, तसेच त्यांनी वारंगळ न्यायालयामध्ये वकीलीही केली आहे.
