പാക് താരങ്ങളിൽ നിരന്തരം സമ്മർദം ചെലുത്തിയ ഇന്ത്യ ആദ്യ 10 മിനിറ്റിനുള്ളിൽ തന്നെ ഛേത്രിയിലൂടെ ലീഡെടുത്തു. പാക് ഗോള്‍കീപ്പറുടെ പിഴവ് മുതലെടുത്താണ് ഇന്ത്യൻ നായകൻ വലകുലുക്കിയത്. ബോക്‌സ് വിട്ട് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ പാക് ഗോൾകീപ്പർക്ക് പന്ത് ക്ലിയര്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ പിഴച്ചു. അനായാസം പന്ത് റാഞ്ചിയ ഛേത്രി ഗോൾകീപ്പറെ കാഴ്‌ചക്കാരനാക്കി ലക്ഷ്യം കാണുകയായിരുന്നു.

71 വർഷത്തെ റെക്കോഡ് ഇനി പഴങ്കഥ: പാകിസ്ഥാനെതിരായ മത്സരത്തിലും ഗോളൊന്നും വഴങ്ങാതിരുന്നതോടെ ഇന്ത്യ മറ്റൊരു റെക്കോഡ് കൂടെ മറികടന്നു. 71 വർഷത്തിന് ശേഷം ആദ്യമായാണ് ഇന്ത്യ തുടർച്ചയായി ഏഴ് മത്സരങ്ങളിൽ ക്ലിൻഷീറ്റ് നിലനിർത്തുന്നത്. 1952ലാണ് ഇന്ത്യ ആദ്യമായി തുടർച്ചായായി ഗോൾ വഴങ്ങാതിരുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഇന്‍റർ കോണ്ടിനന്‍റൽ കപ്പിൽ ലെബനനെ 2-0ന് തോൽപ്പിച്ച ഇന്ത്യ ഈ റെക്കോഡിന് ഒപ്പമെത്തിയിരുന്നു.
