36-ാം ദേശീയ ഗെയിംസിന് ഇന്ന് അഹമ്മദാബാദിൽ തുടക്കം; മേള എത്തുന്നത് 7 വർഷത്തെ ഇടവേളയ്‌ക്ക് ശേഷം

മൊട്ടേരയിലെ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തില്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്രമോദി 36-ാമത് ദേശീയ ഗെയിംസിന്‍റെ ഉദ്‌ഘാടനം നിർവഹിക്കും.

അഹമ്മദാബാദ്: 36-ാമത് ദേശീയ ഗെയിംസിന് അഹമ്മദാബാദില്‍ ഇന്ന് തിരിതെളിയും. ഏഴ് വർഷത്തെ ഇടവേളയ്‌ക്ക് ശേഷം എത്തുന്ന മേള മൊട്ടേരയിലെ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തില്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും. വൈകിട്ട് ഏഴിന് തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഉദ്ഘാടനച്ചടങ്ങില്‍ പിവി സിന്ധു ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള പ്രമുഖർ പങ്കെടുക്കും. ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 12നാണ് ദേശീയ ഗെയിംസിന്‍റെ സമാപനം.

28 സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളും കേന്ദ്രഭരണ പ്രദേശങ്ങളും സര്‍വീസസും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 36 ടീമുകളിലായി 7500-ലേറെ താരങ്ങൾ 36 ഇനങ്ങളിൽ ഇത്തവണ മത്സരിക്കും. അഹമ്മദാബാദ്, ഗാന്ധിനഗര്‍, സൂറത്ത്, വഡോദര, രാജ്കോട്ട്, ഭാവ്നഗര്‍ തുടങ്ങി ആറ് നഗരങ്ങളിലെ 17 വേദികളിലായാണ് ഇത്തവണ മത്സരം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. സൈക്ലിങ് മത്സരങ്ങൾ ഡല്‍ഹിയിലാണ് നടക്കുക.

കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 436 താരങ്ങളാണ് ഇത്തവണ മത്സര രംഗത്തുള്ളത്. പരിശീലകരും ഒഫീഷ്യല്‍സുമായി മറ്റ് 129 പേരും ടീമിനൊപ്പമുണ്ട്. കോമണ്‍വെല്‍ത്ത് ഗെയിംസ് ലോങ്ജംമ്പില്‍ വെള്ളിനേടിയ എം. ശ്രീശങ്കറാണ് മാര്‍ച്ച് പാസ്റ്റില്‍ കേരളത്തിന്‍റെ പതാകയേന്തുക. അതേസമയം കേരളത്തിന്‍റെ ഉറച്ച മെഡല്‍ പ്രതീക്ഷയായ 4x400 റിലേ പുരുഷ വിഭാഗം ടീം ഇക്കുറി മത്സര രംഗത്തില്ല എന്നത് നിരാശ നൽകുന്നു.

2015ല്‍ കേരളത്തിലാണ് അവസാനം ദേശീയ ഗെയിംസ് നടന്നത്. അന്ന് 54 സ്വർണവുമായി കേരളം രണ്ടാം സ്ഥാനത്താണ് ഫിനിഷ് ചെയ്‌തത്. 91 സ്വർണവുമായി സർവീസസായിരുന്നു ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്ത്. തുടർന്ന് 36–ാം ഗെയിംസ് 2016 നവംബറിൽ ഗോവയിൽ നടത്താനാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഒരുക്കങ്ങൾ വൈകിയതോടെ പലതവണ നീട്ടിവയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
