ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ബിയിലായിരുന്ന ഇന്ത്യ സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്ക, അയർലാൻഡ്, ഉഗാണ്ട എന്നിവരെ തകർത്ത് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ജേതാക്കളായാണ് ക്വാർട്ടർ ഫൈനലിലേക്ക് മുന്നേറിയത്. ക്വാർട്ടർ ഫൈനലിൽ ബംഗ്ലാദേശിനെ അഞ്ച് വിക്കറ്റിനും, സെമിയിൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയെ 96 റണ്‍സിന് തകർത്തുമാണ് ഇന്ത്യ ഫൈനലില്‍ പ്രവേശിച്ചത്.
