ബെംഗളൂരു : ആവേശം വാനോളം നിറഞ്ഞ പോരാട്ടം... നിശ്ചിത സമയവും അധിക സമയവും പെനാൽറ്റി ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടും കടന്ന് സഡൻ ഡെത്തിലേക്കെത്തിയ മത്സരത്തിൽ കുവൈത്തിനെ കീഴടക്കി സാഫ് കപ്പിൽ മുത്തമിട്ട് ഇന്ത്യ. ഫൈനലിൽ 5-4 നാണ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഷൂട്ടൗട്ട് വിജയം. നിശ്ചിത സമയത്തും അധിക സമയത്തും ഇരു ടീമുകളും ഓരോ ഗോളടിച്ച് സമനില പാലിച്ചതോടെയാണ് മത്സരം പെനാൽറ്റി ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങിയത്. ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലെ സഡൻഡെത്തിൽ കുവൈത്ത് താരം ഖാലിദ് ഇബ്രാഹിമിന്‍റെ ഷോട്ട് തടഞ്ഞിട്ട ഗോൾ കീപ്പർ ഗുർപ്രീത് സിങ് സന്ധുവാണ് ഇന്ത്യൻ കിരീട നേട്ടത്തിൽ നിർണായക പങ്ക് വഹിച്ചത്.
നിശ്ചിത സമയത്ത് 14-ാം മിനിട്ടിൽ ഷബീബ് അൽ ഖൽദിയിലൂടെ കുവൈത്താണ് ആദ്യ ലീഡെടുത്തത്. പിന്നാലെ 38-ാം മിനിട്ടിൽ ലാലിയൻസുവാല ചാങ്‌തെയിലൂടെ ഇന്ത്യ മടക്ക ഗോൾ നൽകി. തുടർന്ന് രണ്ടാം പകുതിയിലും അധിക സമയത്തും ഇരു ടീമുകളും സമനില പാലിച്ചതോടെ മത്സരം ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലേക്ക് നീളുകയായിരുന്നു. ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടില്‍ ഇന്ത്യക്കായി സുനില്‍ ഛേത്രി, സന്ദേശ് ജിംഗാൻ, ലാലിയൻസുവാല ചാംഗ്തേ, സുഭാശിഷ് ബോസ്, മഹേഷ് സിങ് എന്നിവർ ലക്ഷ്യം കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ ഉദാന്ത സിങ് കിക്ക് പാഴാക്കി.

രണ്ടാം പകുതിയിലും ഇരു ടീമുകളും ആക്രമിച്ചാണ് കളിച്ചത്. എന്നാൽ ഗോൾ മാത്രം പിറന്നില്ല. ഇതോടെ ഇന്ത്യ ആഷിഖ് കുരുണിയന് പകരം മഹേഷ് സിങിനെയും അനിരുദ്ധ് ഥാപ്പയ്‌ക്ക് പകരം രോഹിത് കുമാറിനെയും മൈതാനത്തിറക്കി. അവസാന മിനിട്ടുകളിൽ സഹലിന് പകരം ഉദാന്ത സിങിനെയും കളത്തിലിറക്കി. എന്നാൽ കുവൈത്ത് പ്രതിരോധത്തെ മറികടന്ന് ഗോൾ നേടാൻ മാത്രം ഇന്ത്യക്കായില്ല. ഇതോടെ മത്സരം എക്‌സ്‌ട്രാ ടൈമിലേക്കും, അവിടെയും ഗോൾ പിറക്കാതായതോടെ ഷൂട്ടൗട്ടിലേക്കും നീളുകയായിരുന്നു.
