ഇതോടെ സഞ്ജു രാജ്യാന്തര ക്രിക്കറ്റിൽനിന്നു വിരമിക്കണമെന്നും അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയ്ക്കോ, ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിനോ വേണ്ടി കളിക്കണമെന്നും അഭിപ്രായപ്പെടുന്നവരുണ്ട്. 2015ൽ ദേശീയ കുപ്പായത്തില്‍ അരങ്ങേറിയ സഞ്ജു പലപ്പോഴും ടീമിന് അകത്തും പുറത്തുമാണ്. ഏഴ്‌ വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ 14 ടി20കളിലും ഒരു ഏകദിനത്തിലുമാണ് സഞ്‌ജുവിന് അവസരം ലഭിച്ചത്.
