ജോഹന്നാസ്ബർഗ്: ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയുടെ ടെസ്റ്റ്, ടി20 ടീമുകളുടെ നായക സ്ഥാനത്ത് നിന്നും ഫാഫ് ഡുപ്ലെസിസ് രാജി വച്ചു. അതേസമയം 35 വയസുള്ള താരം ക്രിക്കറ്റിന്‍റെ എല്ലാ ഫോർമാറ്റിലും സജീവമായി തുടരും. ക്രിക്കറ്റ് ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക ട്വീറ്റിലൂടെയാണ് ഇക്കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കിയത്.

ടീമിലെ അടുത്ത തലമുറയില്‍ നേതൃപാടവം വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുന്നതിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായിട്ടാണ് രാജിയെന്നാണ് ഡുപ്ലെസിസ് നല്‍കുന്ന വിശദീകരണം. നേരത്തെ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിന് എതിരായ ഏകദിന പരമ്പരയില്‍ ഡുപ്ലെസിസിന് വിശ്രമം നല്‍കി പകരം ക്വിന്‍റണ്‍ ഡി കോക്കിനെ നായകനായി നിയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ഡികോക്കിനെ ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കന്‍ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് ടീമിന്‍റെ സ്ഥിരം നായകനായി നിയമിക്കുമെന്ന് ടീം ഡയറക്‌ടർ ഗ്രെയിം സ്മിത്ത് സൂചന നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു.

നിലവിലെ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ ഡികോക്കിനെ എല്ലാ ഫോർമാറ്റിലും ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കന്‍ ക്രിക്കറ്റിന്‍റെ നായകനായി നിയമിക്കാനാണ് ബോർഡ് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്. ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക അടുത്തതായി സ്വന്തം മണ്ണില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന മത്സരത്തില്‍ ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയെ നേരിടും. മൂന്ന് ഏകദിനങ്ങളും മൂന്ന് ടി20യും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നതാണ് പരമ്പര. പരമ്പരയുടെ ഭാഗമായുള്ള ആദ്യ ടി20 മത്സരത്തിന് ഫെബ്രുവരി 21-ന് ജോഹന്നാസ്ബർഗില്‍ തുടക്കമാകും.
