ചെന്നൈ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ സ്വർണ വേട്ട

1.6 കിലോ സ്വർണം പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു. ആറ് വ്യത്യസ്ത കേസുകളിലായാണ് കസ്റ്റംസ് വകുപ്പ് സ്വർണം കണ്ടെടുത്തത്.

ചെന്നൈ: ചെന്നൈ അന്താരാഷ്‌ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളം വഴി കടത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച 1.6 കിലോ സ്വർണം കസ്റ്റംസ് പിടികൂടി. ആറ് യാത്രക്കാരിൽ നിന്നും 59 ലക്ഷം രൂപ വിലമതിക്കുന്ന സ്വർണമാണ് പിടികൂടിയത്. ആറ് വ്യത്യസ്‌ത കേസുകളിൽ നിന്നാണ് കസ്റ്റംസ് വകുപ്പ് സ്വർണം കണ്ടെടുത്തത്.

യാത്രക്കാരിലൊരാൾ 231 ഗ്രാം സ്വർണം ഷൂസ്, ബോൾ പോയിന്‍റ് പേനകളുടെ റീഫിൽ എന്നിയിലൊളിപ്പിച്ചാണ് കടത്താൻ ശ്രമിച്ചത്.

1962 ലെ കസ്‌റ്റംസ് നിയമപ്രകാരമാണ് സ്വർണം പിടിച്ചെടുത്തത്.
