ಕೋವಿಡ್-19 ಸೋಂಕಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ 84 ವರ್ಷದ ತರುಣ್ ಗೊಗೋಯ್ ಇಂದು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಫಲಕಾರಿಯಾಗದೆ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉಸಿರಾಟದ ತೊಂದರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಹು ಅಂಗಾಂಗ ವೈಫಲ್ಯದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅವರು ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹದಿನೈದು ವರ್ಷ ಅಸ್ಸಾಂನ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಆರು ಬಾರಿ ಸಂಸದರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಅವಧಿಯ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಅನುಭವ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು.
