ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್​ ಸರಣಿ ಗೆಲುವಿನ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಭಾರತದ ಯುವ ಆಟಗಾರ ಶುಬ್ಮನ್ ಗಿಲ್​ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆನಂದ್ ಮಹೀಂದ್ರಾ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಂಪನಿಯ 12 ಲಕ್ಷ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಥಾರ್ ಎಸ್​ಯುವಿ ಕಾರನ್ನು ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಭಾರತ ಜನವರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿರಾಟ್, ಬುಮ್ರಾ ಅಶ್ವಿನ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಕೆಲವು ಅನುಭವಿ ಆಟಗಾರರ ಅನುಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ ತಂಡವನ್ನು ಮಣಿಸಿ 2-1ರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾರ್ಡರ್ ಗವಾಸ್ಕರ್ ಸರಣಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹೀಂದ್ರಾ ಗ್ರೂಫ್ ಅಫ್ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳ ಸಿಇಒ ಆನಂದ್​ ಮಹೀಂದ್ರಾ, ಆ ಸರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪದಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಶುಬ್ಮನ್ ಗಿಲ್, ನಟರಾಜನ್, ನವದೀಪ್ ಸೈನಿ, ವಾಷಿಂಗ್ಟನ್​ ಸುಂದರ್, ಶಾರ್ದುಲ್ ಠಾಕೂರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಸಿರಾಜ್​ಗೆ ನೂತನ ಥಾರ್ ಎಸ್​ಯುವಿ ​ ಕಾರನ್ನು ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಅದರಂತೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕೆಲವು ಆಟಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಕಾರನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇದೀಗ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್​ಮನ್ ಶುಬ್ಮನ್ ಗಿಲ್​ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಈ ಐಶಾರಾಮಿ ಕಾರು ತಲುಪಿದ್ದು, ಗಿಲ್​ ತಮ್ಮ ಟ್ವಿಟರ್​ ಮೂಲಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಗಿಲ್ ಆಸೀಸ್​ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ 2ನೇ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್​ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪದಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಗಬ್ಬಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 91ರನ್​ ಸಿಡಿಸಿ ಸರಣಿ ಗೆಲುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
