ಮಾನಸ ಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ಶ್ರೀಕಂಠದತ್ತ ನರಸಿಂಹರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕೆಪಿಎಲ್ ಫೈನಲ್ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 153 ರನ್ ಜಯದ ಗುರಿ ಹೊತ್ತ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ಟಸ್ಕರ್ಸ್ ತಂಡ, ಟೈಗರ್ಸ್ ಬೌಲಿಂಗ್ ದಾಳಿಗೆ ತತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಕೇವಲ 144 ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸಿ ಸರ್ವಪತನ ಕಂಡಿತು. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ 8ನೇ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಹುಡುಗರು ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ ಪಟ್ಟ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಮೊತ್ತ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ ಟೈಗರ್ಸ್ ತಂಡ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ತೋರುತ್ತ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಫೈನಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ವೈಫಲ್ಯ ಕಂಡಿರುವುದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು. 20 ಓವರ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 6 ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕೇವಲ 152 ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸಿತು. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಟೈಗರ್ಸ್ ಟಾಸ್ ಗೆದ್ದು ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಆದರೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಡದ ಆಟಗಾರು ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ (42) ಹಾಗೂ ಲವ್ನೀತ್ ಸಿಸೋಡಿಯಾ (29) ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಇತರರು ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎಡವಿದರು.
