ಲಂಡನ್: ಶಿಖರ್ ಧವನ್ ಶತಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೌಲರ್ಗಳ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ನೆರವಿನಿಂದ ಹಾಲಿ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧ 36 ರನ್ಗಳಿಂದ ಜಯ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ತಂಡ ಸತತ ಎರಡನೇ ಜಯ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ.
ಟಾಸ್ ಗೆದ್ದು ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಟೀಂ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ 50 ಓವರ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 352 ರನ್ಗಳಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ಮನ್ ಧವನ್ 117, ಕೊಹ್ಲಿ 82, ರೋಹಿತ್ 57, ಪಾಂಡ್ಯ 48 ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಮೊತ್ತ ಕಲೆ ಹಾಕಲು ನೆರವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
353 ರನ್ಗಳ ಬೃಹತ್ ಮೊತ್ತ ಬೆನ್ನತ್ತಿದ ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ ತಂಡ 50 ಓವರ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 316 ರನ್ಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಲೌಟ್ ಆಗುವ ಮೂಲಕ 36 ರನ್ಗಳಿಂದ ಸೋಲೊಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಆರಂಭಿಕರಾಗಿ ಕಣಕ್ಕಿಳಿದ ವಾರ್ನರ್ ನಿಧಾನಗತಿ ಆಟದ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿ 84 ಎಸೆತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 54 ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸಿದರು. ಇವರು ಔಟಾಗುವ ಮುನ್ನ ನಾಯಕ ಫಿಂಚ್ (36) ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿ ಮೊದಲ ವಿಕೆಟ್ಗೆ 61 ರನ್ಗಳ ಜೊತೆಯಾಟ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಫಿಂಚ್ ರನ್ಔಟ್ ಬಲೆಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ, ವಾರ್ನರ್ ಚಹಾಲ್ ಸ್ಪಿನ್ ಮೋಡಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯಾದರು.
