ಐಜಾಲ್ (ಮಿಜೋರಾಂ): ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ವಾರಸ್ದಾರ ಜಿಯಾಂಘಾಕಾ ಅಕಾ ಜಿಯಾನ್ (76) ಭಾನುವಾರ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರು 38 ಪತ್ನಿಯರು, 89 ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮತ್ತು 33 ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಅಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮಧುಮೇಹ (ಶುಗರ್) ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕ ರಕ್ತದೊತ್ತಡ (ಬಿಪಿ)ದಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಜಿಯಾನ್, ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬಕ್ತಾಂಗ್ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅವರ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಿಗಡಾಯಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ, ಆ ವೇಳೆಗಾಗಲೇ ಅವರು ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ವೈದ್ಯರು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.
ಜಿಯಾನ್ ಅವರ ಅಜ್ಜ 1942 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮಾಂಗ್‌ಕಾವ್ನ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಐಜಾಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಯೂರಿದರು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಈವರೆಗೆ ಇವರ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಈ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇವರು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಖುವಾಂಗ್ತುಹಾ ಎಂಬ ಪಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಪತ್ನಿತ್ವ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಇವರು 39 ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ವರಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಬಕ್ತಾಂಗ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜಿಯಾನ್ ಅವರ ನಾಲ್ಕಂತಸ್ತಿನ ಬಂಗಲೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
