ಪುದುಚೆರಿ: ಪಾಂಡಿಚೇರಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಘಟಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಪೌರತ್ವ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ಪಡೆಯಲು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಎಂ.ಎ. ಸಮೂಹ ಸಂವಹನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ರಬೀಹಾ ಅಬ್ದುರೆಹಿಮ್ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ. ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ತೀರಾ ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಎನ್‌ಆರ್‌ಸಿ, ಸಿಎಎ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಎಸಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಿಂಸಾತ್ಮಕದ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ರಬೀಹಾ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ರಾಮ್ ನಾಥ್ ಕೋವಿಂದ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿವಿಯ ಘಟಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡದೆ, ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿತ್ತು.
