ಪೌರತ್ವ (ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ) ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ: ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ

ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ಯದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ತೀರಾ ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಎನ್‌ಆರ್‌ಸಿ, ಸಿಎಎ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಎಸಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಿಂಸಾತ್ಮಕದ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು, ತಮಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪುದುಚೆರಿ: ಪಾಂಡಿಚೇರಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಘಟಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಪೌರತ್ವ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ಪಡೆಯಲು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ರಾಮ್ ನಾಥ್ ಕೋವಿಂದ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿವಿಯ ಘಟಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡದೆ, ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿತ್ತು.
