Shooting World Championship 2023 : श्योराण ने भारत के लिए पांचवां ओलंपिक कोटा जीता, महिला और पुरूष टीम को स्वर्ण

भारत के स्टार शूटर अखिल श्योराण ने रविवार को बाकू में चल रही शूटिंग विश्व चैंपियनशिप 2023 में 50 मीटर राइफल में ब्रॉन्ज मेडल अपने नाम किया. इसके साथ ही उन्होंने भारत के लिए पांचवा ओलंपिक कोटा हासिल किया.

बाकू (अजरबेजान) : अखिल श्योराण ने रविवार को यहां आईएसएसएफ विश्व निशानेबाजी चैंपियनशिप की पुरुष राइफल थ्री पोजीशन स्पर्धा में कांस्य पदक के साथ पेरिस ओलंपिक के लिए देश का पांचवां कोटा स्थान हासिल किया.

अखिल आठ निशानेबाजों के फाइनल में 450.0 अंक के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे और अगले साल होने वाले ओलंपिक खेलों का कोटा हासिल करने में सफल रहे. वह क्वालीफिकेशन के बाद 585 अंक के साथ छठे स्थान पर थे. ऑस्ट्रेलिया के एलेक्जेंडर शमिर्ल ने 462.6 अंक के साथ स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम किया. चेक गणराज्य के पेत्र निमबर्स्की 459.2 अंक के साथ रजत पदक जीतने में सफल रहे.

भारतीय महिला टीम ने 25 मीटर पिस्टल में चीनी ताइपै को हराकर स्वर्ण पदक जीता. टीम में रिदम सांगवान, एशा सिंह और मनु भाकर थी. तीनों ने 1744 अंक बनाये. चीन को कांस्य पदक मिला. सांगवान व्यक्तिगत फाइनल में आठवें स्थान पर रही और पेरिस ओलंपिक का कोटा हासिल करने में नाकाम रही.

श्योराण, ऐश्वर्य प्रताप सिंह तोमर और नीरज कुमार ने पुरूषों की थ्री पोजिशन पिस्टल स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीता. श्योराण ने कहा, 'मेरे लिये यह बहुत मायने रखता है. हम इसके लिये काफी मेहनत कर रहे थे. विश्व चैम्पियनशिप चार साल में एक बार होती है. इसमें पदक जीतकर कोटा हासिल करना काफी संतोषजनक है'.

अखिल से पहले भवनीश मेंदिरत्ता (पुरुष ट्रैप), गत विश्व चैंपियन रुद्रांक्ष बालासाहेब पाटिल (पुरुष 10 मीटर एयर राइफल), स्वप्निल कुसाले (पुरुष 50 मीटर राइफल थ्री पोजीशन) और मेहुल घोष (महिला 10 मीटर एयर राइफल) ओलंपिक कोटा हासिल कर चुके हैं.

आईएसएसएफ विश्व चैंपियनशिप 2024 पेरिस ओलंपिक की क्वालीफाई प्रतियोगिता है. इस प्रतियोगिता में 12 ओलंपिक व्यक्तिगत निशानेबाजी स्पर्धा में 48 ओलंपिक कोटा दांव पर लगे हैं जो स्पर्धा में शीर्ष चार (प्रत्येक देश से एक) पर रहने वाले निशानेबाजों को दिए जाएंगे.
