ये पेसर लाया था भारतीय तेज गेंदबाजी में क्रांति... लक्ष्मण ने बताया

वीवीएस लक्ष्मण ने कहा है कि जवागल श्रीनाथ ही वो तेज गेंदबाज हैं जो भारतीय तेज गेंदबाजी में क्रांति लेकर आए.

हैदराबाद : भारतीय टीम के पूर्व बल्लेबाज वीवीएस लक्ष्मण ने गुरुवार को कहा कि पूर्व तेज गेंदबाज जवागल श्रीनाथ भारतीय तेज गेंदबाजी में क्रांति लेकर आए थे. लक्ष्मण इस समय उन खिलाड़ियों को याद कर रहे हैं जिनके साथ वो खेले हैं और जिन्होंने उनपर प्रभाव डाला है. श्रीनाथ से पहले वो इसी क्रम में सचिन तेंदुलकर, सौरव गांगुली, राहुल द्रविड़ और अनिल कुंबले को याद कर चुके हैं.

श्रीनाथ ने अक्टूबर-1991 में पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ वनडे में पदार्पण किया था. वो भारत के लिए 67 टेस्ट मैच और 229 वनडे मैचे खेले. इन दोनों प्रारूपों में उन्होंने क्रमश: 236 और 315 विकेट लिए.

लक्ष्मण ने ट्वीट करते हुए लिखा, "मैसूर से निकला बेहतरीन तेज गेंदबाज जिन्होंने भारतीय गेंदबाजी में क्रांति ला दी. साथ न देने वाली स्थिति में भी उन्होंने हमेशा टीम की जरूरतों को पूरा किया. श्रीनाथ की ताकत विपरीत परिस्थितियों में भी अच्छा करने की भूख है."

इससे पहले लक्ष्मण ने राहुल के साथ अपनी एक पुरानी फोटो शेयर की और ट्वीट कर कहा, "पूरे समर्पण के साथ मैच खेलने वाले राहुल द्रविड़ हमेशा एक टीम मैन रहे. उन्होंने हर चुनौती का डटकर सामना किया. किसी भी परिस्थिति में न कहना उन्होंने नहीं सीखा. उन्होंने लिमिटेड ओवर क्रिकेट में न सिर्फ विकेटकीपिंग की बल्कि टेस्ट में ओपनिंग की जिम्मेदारी भी निभाई."

उससे पहले अनिल कुंबले को याद करते हुए वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ 2002 में एंटीगा में खेले गए गए उस मैच की फोटो शेयर की जिसमें कुंबले ने टूटे जबड़े के साथ गेंदबाजी की थी. लक्ष्मण ने ट्वीट किया, "हर मायने में एक बड़ा खिलाड़ी, वो सभी बाधाओं को पीछे छोड़कर आगे बढ़े और हमेशा अपनी जिम्मेदारी निभाई. वो साहस वो धैर्य जो इस फोटो में दिखाया गया है, अनिल कुंबले में सबसे ज्यादा है. कभी हार न मानना चाहे कुछ भी हो, यही खासियत है जो कुंबले को वो क्रिकेटर बनाती है जो वो हैं."

लक्ष्मण ने बीसीसीआई अध्यक्ष सौरव गांगुली के लॉडर्स मैदान पर नेटवेस्ट ट्रॉफी के फाइनल में टी-शर्ट उतारने वाली फोटो शेयर करते हुए लिखा कि अपरंपरागत और गर्व करने वाले इंसान. सौरव गांगुली दिल खोल कर खेलने वाल इंसान थे, और कई बार इसे अलग भी कर देते थे. उन्होंने बीसीसीई के मौजूदा अध्यक्ष के बारे में आगे लिखा कि शक्तिशाली युवा खिलाड़ियों जिन्होंने आगे चलकर शानदार खेल खेला उसका श्रेय गांगुली की कप्तानी को जाता है. गांगुली को भारत के सबसे सफल कप्तानों में गिना जाता है.
