मुंबई : सिंगर राहत फतेह अली खान को ऑक्सफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी ने बॉलीवुड और हॉलीवुड म्यूज़िक में शानदार योगदान के लिए डॉक्टर ऑफ म्यूजिक की उपाधि दी है. राहत 50 से ज्यादा टीवी सीरियल्स और 100 से अधिक फिल्मों में अपनी आवाज़ दे चुके हैं.

उन्होंने दुनिया भर के कई हाई प्रोफाइल कॉन्सर्ट्स में परफॉर्म किया है और उनकी एक ग्लोबल फॉलोइंग हैं. उनके गानों पर अब तक ऑनलाइन एक बिलियन व्यूज़ आ चुके हैं. राहत ने इस बारे में बात करते हुए कहा कि इस सम्मान का हकदार होना वाकई एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है और मैं खुश हूं कि म्यूज़िक के चलते मैं इतना सफल हो पाया हूं.

रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, राहत फतेह अली खान ऑक्सफोर्ड टाउनहॉल में भी परफॉर्म करेंगे. इससे पहले भी ऑक्सफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी ने राहत के सम्मान में एक म्यूजिक हाल का नाम उनके नाम पर रखा था. राहत के अलावा 8 लोगों को भी ऑक्सफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी ने सम्मानित किया.

इससे पहले ऑक्सफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी ने राहत फतेह अली खान के बारे में कहा था कि वे एक ऐसे पाकिस्तानी सिंगर हैं जिन्हें मुस्लिम सूफियों के पवित्र म्यूज़िक कव्वाली में महारत हासिल है. इसके अलावा सेरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया के फाउंडर और चेयरमैन सायरस पूनावाला को भी यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ ऑक्सफोर्ड ने मानवता के लिए योगदान के लिए सम्मानित किया है.
