FIDE વર્લ્ડ કપની ફાઇનલમાં ભૂતપૂર્વ વર્લ્ડ ચેમ્પિયન નોર્વેના મેગ્નસ કાર્લસનને ભારતના 18 વર્ષના ગ્રાન્ડમાસ્ટર આર. પ્રજ્ઞાનંદ ફાઈનલમાં ટક્કર આપશે.

ચેન્નાઈઃ ભારતના 18 વર્ષીય ગ્રાન્ડમાસ્ટર આર. પ્રજ્ઞાનંદે FIDE વર્લ્ડ કપની ફાઇનલમાં પ્રવેશવા માટે સોમવારે ટાઈ-બ્રેક સેમિફાઇનલમાં વિશ્વના ત્રીજા નંબરના અમેરિકન ગ્રાન્ડમાસ્ટર ફેબિયાનો કારુઆનાને હરાવ્યા બાદ દેશના ચેસ પ્રેમીઓ જૂમી ઉઠ્યા હતા. ભારતીય ખેલાડીના શાનદાર પ્રદર્શન પર સમગ્ર દેશને ગર્વ છે. આવી સિદ્ધિ મેળવનાર તે બીજો ખેલાડી બની ગયો છે. હવે ફાઇનલમાં પ્રજ્ઞાનંદનનો સામનો વિશ્વના નંબર વન ખેલાડી અને ભૂતપૂર્વ વર્લ્ડ ચેમ્પિયન નોર્વેના મેગ્નસ કાર્લસન સામે થશે.

મોટી બહેન પાસેથી પ્રેરણાઃ ભારતીય ગ્રાન્ડમાસ્ટર રમેશબાબુ પ્રજ્ઞાનંદ વિશે એવું કહેવાય છે કે, પ્રજ્ઞાનંદે તેમની મોટી બહેનથી પ્રભાવિત થઈને ચેસ રમવાનું શરૂ કર્યું હતું. માત્ર ત્રણ વર્ષની ઉંમરે તેણે ચેસને પોતાના જીવનનો હિસ્સો બનાવવાનું શરૂ કર્યું. આ માટે તે તેની મોટી બહેન વૈશાલીને બધો જ શ્રેય આપે છે, જેમણે આ રમત રમેશબાબુ પ્રગનાનંદને ન માત્ર શીખવી હતી પરંતુ તેમને આ રમતમાં ટીવી પર કાર્ટૂન જોવામાં સમય પસાર કરવા માટે પણ પ્રેરિત કર્યા હતા.

ટીવી પર કાર્ટૂન જોવાનો શોખ બદલાઈ ગયોઃ આ વિશે માહિતી આપતાં પ્રજ્ઞાનંદના પિતા રમેશ બાબુએ એક વખત કહ્યું હતું કે, અમારા પરિવારમાં અમે વૈશાલીને ચેસ સાથે જોડી હતી, જેથી તેણીને ટીવી જોવાની ટેવમાંથી છૂટકારો મળી શકે. તેણે આ કામ રમેશબાબુ પ્રગનાનંદને શીખવ્યું હતું. મારા બંને બાળકોને આ રમત ગમી અને બંનેએ તેને કારકિર્દી તરીકે આગળ વધારવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. અમે ખુશ છીએ કે બંને રમતમાં સફળ થઈ રહ્યા છે. ખાસ વાત એ છે કે આ બંને રમતનો આનંદ માણતા આગળ વધી રહ્યા છે.
