વર્ષ 2020 ખૂબ ખરાબ વર્ષ સાબિત થઈ રહ્યું છે. કોરોના, ચક્રવાત અને બીજી અનેક મુશ્કેલીઓ આ વર્ષમાં જોવા મળી રહી છે. આ સાથે, ફિલ્મ જગતમાંથી કોઈકના ને કોઇકના મૃત્યુના સમાચાર પણ સામે આવી રહ્યા છે. બુધવારે વરિષ્ઠ ગીતકાર અનવર સાગરના નિધનના દુખદ સમાચાર આવ્યા ત્યારે ગુરુવારે સવારે રોમેન્ટિક ફિલ્મોના ભગવાન તરીકે જાણીતા બાસુ ચેટર્જીના અવસાનના સમાચાર સાંભળીને ઉદ્યોગમાં શોકનું મોજુ ફરી વળ્યું છે.

93 વર્ષીય બાસુના નિધનના સમાચારને IFTDAના અશોક પંડિતે ટ્વિટર પર શેર કર્યા છે.

બાસુ ચેટર્જી છોટસી બાત, રજનીગંધા, બાતોં બાતોં મે, એક રુકા હુઆ ફેસલા અને ચમેલીકી શાદી જેવી ફિલ્મોના નિર્દેશન માટે બાસુ ચેટર્જી જાણીતા છે. બાસુના અંતિમ સંસ્કાર બપોરે 2 કલાકે સાન્ટા ક્રુઝ સ્મશાનભૂમિ ખાતે કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા.

જો કે, એ વાતની પુષ્ટિ હજી થઇ નથી કે તેમનું અવસાન કોરોનાના કારણે થયું છે કે પછી કોઇ બિમારીથી થયું છે.
