"As our (New Zealand) prime minister (Jacinda Ardern) has said, these last few days have been among the darkest days in New Zealand's history. This is being an unprecedented, senseless act of violence against innocent people, which we utterly condemn. This is not who we are as people in New Zealand. New Zealand has been known as a peaceful society that is welcoming and that cherishes diversity, kindness and compassion. This kind of violence has no place in that society."

The New Zealand embassy in Seoul was open on Monday for visitors to sign a book of condolence for victims of last Friday's deadly shootings at mosques in Christchurch.
Visitors will be able ro sign the book until March 20th in the South Korean capital.
In his message, 21-year old student, Ryu Hong In, condemned the attacks, telling The Associated Press after signing the book that "hatred begets hatred through such attacks."
New Zealand's Ambassador to South Korea, Philip Turner, said the attacks did not reflect the peaceful society of New Zealand.
"This is not who we are as people in New Zealand," Turner said.
