झारखंड क्रिकेट असोसिएशनच्या मैदानावर रंगलेल्या या तिसर्‍या कसोटी सामन्याच्या पहिल्या दिवशी रोहितने आपले शतक पूर्ण केले. या मालिकेतील रोहितचे हे तिसरे शतक आहे. विशाखापट्टणममध्ये झालेल्या पहिल्या कसोटी सामन्याच्या दोन्ही डावात रोहितने शतक झळकावले आहे.
एका कसोटी मालिकेत तीन शतके झळकावणारा रोहित हा दुसरा भारतीय सलामीवीर ठरला आहे. यापूर्वी सुनील गावस्कर यांनी तीन वेळा अशी कामगिरी केली आहे. शिवाय, यंदाच्या कॅलेंडर वर्षातील रोहितचे हे नववे आंतरराष्ट्रीय शतक ठरले आहे. त्यामुळे रोहितने सचिन तेंडुलकरच्या विक्रमाशी बरोबरी केली. मास्टर ब्लास्टरने १९९८ मध्ये ९ शतके झळकावली होती.
या सोबत रोहितने एका कसोटी मालिकेत सर्वात जास्त षटकार खेचण्याचा विक्रम नावावर केला. विंडीजच्या शिमरोन हेटमायरने २०१८ मध्ये बांगलादेशविरुद्धच्या कसोटी मालिकेत १५ षटकार खेचले होते. रोहितने या मालिकेत आतापर्यंत १७ षटकार ठोकले आहेत. एका मालिकेत भारताकडून सर्वाधित षटकारांचा विक्रम हरभजन सिंगच्या नावावर होता. त्याने २०१० मध्ये न्यूझीलंडविरुद्ध १६ षटकार मारले होते.
