कारगिल विजय दिवस : भारतीय सैनिकांच्या शौर्याला क्रिकेटपटूंचा सलाम

भारत पाकिस्तान नियंत्रण रेषेवर असणाऱ्या जम्मू-काश्मिरमधील कारगिल जिल्ह्यामध्ये भारत आणि पाकिस्तानच्या सैन्यात मे, जून आणि जुलै असे तीन महिने युद्ध सुरू होते. या युद्धातील भारतीय सैनिकांच्या शौर्याला भारताच्या आजी-माजी क्रिकेटपटूंनी सलाम केला आहे.

मुंबई - भारतीय लष्कराने 26 जुलै 1999 रोजी कारगिलमध्ये विजयी झेंडा फडकावला. तेव्हापासून 26 जुलै रोजी कारगिल विजय दिवस साजरा करण्यात येतो. 3 मे 1999 रोजी युद्धाला सुरुवात झाली होती. 26 जुलै रोजी भारतीय सैन्याने या युद्धाची विजयी समाप्ती केली. जवळपास दोन महिन्यांहून अधिक काळ हे युद्ध चालले होते.
