अमेरिकेतील एका श्वेतवर्णीय पोलीस अधिकाऱ्याच्या मारहाणीतून आफ्रिकन वंशाच्या जॉर्ज फ्लॉइडचा मृत्यू झाला.या घटनेनंतर, अमेरिकेत हिंसक निषेध सुरू झाला आहे. सॅमीने या संदर्भात ट्विट केले. तो म्हणाला, “व्हिडिओ पाहिल्यानंतर क्रिकेटविश्वातून जर कृष्णवर्णीय लोकांवरील अन्यायविरूद्ध कोणी उभे राहत नसतील तर तेही या समस्येचा भाग मानले जातील.”

''क्रिकेटविश्वाने एकतर वंशभेदाविरूद्ध आवाज उठवला पाहिजे किंवा या समस्येचा भाग होण्यासाठी तयार असावे'', असे सॅमीने म्हटले. सॅमीचे हे विधान आफ्रिकन वंशाच्या जॉर्ज फ्लॉइडच्या मृत्यूनंतर आले आहे. अमेरिकेतील एका श्वेतवर्णीय पोलीस अधिकाऱ्याच्या मारहाणीतून फ्लॉइडचा मृत्यू झाला. या घटनेनंतर, संपूर्ण जगभरात शोक व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे.
