ഐപിഎല്‍ പതിനാറാം പതിപ്പില്‍ നിര്‍ണായകമായ അവസാന രണ്ട് മത്സരങ്ങളിലും വിരാട് കോലി സെഞ്ച്വറിയടിച്ച് റോയല്‍ ചലഞ്ചേഴ്‌സ് ബാംഗ്ലൂരിന്‍റെ ടോപ്‌ സ്‌കോറര്‍ ആയി. എന്നാല്‍ ഗുജറാത്തിനെതിരായ മത്സരത്തില്‍ തോറ്റതോടെ ഇത്തവണയും കിരീടം നേടാതെ വിരാടിനും ആര്‍സിബിക്കും മടങ്ങേണ്ടി വന്നു.

എന്നാല്‍ മറുപടി ബാറ്റിങ്ങില്‍ ശുഭ്‌മാന്‍ ഗില്ലിന്‍റെ തകര്‍പ്പന്‍ സെഞ്ച്വറി നിലവിലെ ചാമ്പ്യന്‍മാരായ ഗുജറാത്തിന് ഈ സീസണിലെ 10 ജയവും ആര്‍സിബിക്ക് മടക്ക ടിക്കറ്റുമാണ് സമ്മാനിച്ചത്. തോല്‍വിയോടെ ബാംഗ്ലൂര്‍ ആറാം സ്ഥാനത്തേക്കും വീണു.

ഐപിഎല്ലില്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ റണ്‍സ്, സെഞ്ച്വറി, അര്‍ധസെഞ്ച്വറി നേടിയ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരന്‍ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിരവധി നേട്ടങ്ങളാണ് റോയല്‍ ചലഞ്ചേഴ്‌സ് ബാംഗ്ലൂരിന്‍റെ വിരാട് കോലി തന്‍റെ ബാറ്റ് കൊണ്ട് നേടിയെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ളത്. പ്രഥമ സീസണ്‍ മുതല്‍ ബാംഗ്ലൂരിനായ് കളിക്കുന്ന കോലിക്കും അവര്‍ക്കായൊരു കിരീടം സമ്മാനിക്കാനായിട്ടില്ല. 2011ലും 2016ലും ടീം ഫൈനല്‍ വരെയെത്തിയെങ്കിലും അവസാനം കിരീടം കൈവിട്ടു.
