ബോളിവുഡ് സൂപ്പർതാരം ഷാരൂഖ് ഖാന് ലണ്ടനിലെ നിയമ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ്. സിനിമ മേഖലയിലുള്ള സംഭാവനകളും സാമുഹ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളും കണക്കിലെടുത്താണ് ആദരം. വ്യാഴാഴ്ച 350ൽ പരം വിദ്യർഥികൾ പങ്കെടുത്ത ബിരുധധാരണ ചടങ്ങിൽ വച്ച് ഷാരൂഖ് ഖാൻ ബഹുമതി ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി.

സ്നേഹവും സഹാനുഭൂതിയും നൽകേണ്ടതിൻ്റെ ആവശ്യകതയെപ്പറ്റി ഷാരൂഖ് പുരസ്കാരം സ്വീകരിച്ചതിന് ശേഷമുള്ള പ്രസംഗത്തിനിടെ പറഞ്ഞു. ''സമൂഹത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രമുഖ വ്യക്തിയെന്ന എൻ്റെ ഖ്യാതി സാമൂഹ്യ സേവനത്തിനായി വിനിയോഗിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത് ഭാഗ്യമായി കരുതുന്നു. സ്ത്രീ ശാക്തീകരണത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയും മാനുഷിക അവകാശങ്ങളുെട പുനരധിവാസത്തിനു വേണ്ടിയുമാണ് ഞാൻ സജീവമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്'', അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കി . ലോകത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ ലണ്ടനിലെ നിയമ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചതിൽ ഏറെ സന്തോഷമുണ്ടെന്നും താരം പ്രതികരിച്ചു.

ഈയടുത്ത് ഷാരൂഖിന് ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ് നൽകാനുള്ള ജാമിയ മില്ലിയ സർവകലാശാലയുടെ ശുപാർശ കേന്ദ്രം തള്ളിയിരുന്നു. സർവകാലാശാലയിലെ പൂർവ വിദ്യാർഥിയാണ് ഷാരൂഖ്. ബെഡ്പോര്‍ഷൈര്‍ സര്‍വകലാശാല, എഡിന്‍ബര്‍ഗ് സര്‍വകലാശാല എന്നിവര്‍ നേരത്തേ താരത്തിന് ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ് നല്‍കി ആദരിച്ചിരുന്നു.
