ಅಡೀಸ್‌ ಅಬಾಬಾ:157 ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಬೋಯಿಂಗ್​ ವಿಮಾನ ದುರಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ವರು ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಸಾವಿಗೀಡಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿದ.

ಇಥಿಯೋಪಿಯಾ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಅಡೀಸ್‌ ಅಬಾಬಾದಿಂದ ನೈರೋಬಿಗೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬೋಯಿಂಗ್‌ ವಿಮಾನ ಪಥನಗೊಂಡು 157 ಜನ ಸಾವಿಗೀಡಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಇಥಿಯೋಪಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರಾಯಭಾರಿ ಕಚೆರಿ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವೆ ಸುಶ್ಮಾ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್​ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಟ್ವೀಟ್​ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವೆ ಸುಶ್ಮಾ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್,ವೈದ್ಯ ಪನ್ನಾಗೇಶ್ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್, ವೈದ್ಯ ಹನ್ಸಿನ್ ಅನ್ನಾಗೆಶ್, ನುಕವರಪು ಮನಿಷ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಖಾ ಗರ್ಗ್​ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಈ ದುರಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಟ್ವೀಟ್​​ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ​.

ಈ ಪೈಕಿ ಶಿಖಾ ಗರ್ಗ್ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಪರಿಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತಿದ್ದರು. ನೈರೋಬಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತಿದ್ದ ವಿಶ್ವಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪರಿಸರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ(UNEP)ದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ಸುಶ್ಮಾ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್​ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅಡೀಸ್‌ ಅಬಾಬಾದಿಂದ 62 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಿಶೋಫ್ತು ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮಾನ ಪತನಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ‘ಅಡೀಸ್‌ ಅಬಾಬಾದಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಕಾಲಮಾನ 8.38ಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದ್ದ ಬೋಯಿಂಗ್‌ 737 -800 ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್‌ ವಿಮಾನವು 8.44ರ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ರಾಡಾರ್​ನಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ದುರ್ಘ‌ಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಹುಡುಕಾಟ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ಭರದಿಂದ ಸಾಗಿದೆ' ಎಂದು ಇಥಿಯೋಪಿಯನ್‌ ಏರ್​ಲೈನ್ಸ್‌ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ADDIS ABABA: An Ethiopian Airlines flight carrying more than 150 people crashed early Sunday shortly after departing from the Ethiopian capital,

Addis Ababa, en route to Nairobi, Kenya, the airline said, killing everyone onboard. Four Indian passengers were among the dead.

The Indian Embassy in Ethiopia gave external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj the names of the crash victims which she tweeted: “deceased Indian

nationals are Vaidya Pannagesh Bhaskar, Vaidya Hansin Annagesh, Nukavarapu Manisha and Shikha Garg… My colleague Dr Harshvardhan (union

minister for environment & forests) has confirmed that Ms Shikha Garg is a consultant with ministry of environment and forests. She was travelling to

attend UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) meeting in Nairobi. I am trying to reach the families of other Indian nationals.”

The plane was identified by its manufacturer, Boeing, as one of its newest models, a 737 Max 8. The cause of the crash was unclear, but a Lion Air

flight using the same model of plane went down in Indonesia in October and killed 189 people. Officials are investigating whether changes to the Max

8’s automatic controls might have sent that flight into an unrecoverable nose-dive. The airline said the 737 had been subjected to a “rigorous”

maintenance check in February.

Flight 302 was carrying passengers from at least 35 countries. The dead included 32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians, nine Ethiopians, eight each from the US,

China and Italy, and seven each from France and Britain, the airline said.



The flight on Sunday took off in good weather from Bole International Airport at 8:38 am and lost contact six minutes later, the airline said. The plane

went down near Bishoftu, about 56km southeast of Addis Ababa.

Tewolde GebreMariam, chief executive officer of Ethiopian Airlines, said at a news conference that the pilot had sought and had been given clearance

to return to the airport in Addis Ababa after reporting difficulties.
