एजबेस्टन: इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ शुक्रवार को पुनर्निर्धारित पांचवें टेस्ट के पहले दिन ऋषभ पंत के बल्ले से निकले 146 रनों ने क्रिकेट जगत को प्रभावित कर दिया, जिसमें माइकल वॉन, वेस्टइंडीज के दिग्गज इयान बिशप और सचिन तेंदुलकर भी शामिल थे.
भारतीय टीम की कठिन परिस्थितियों के बावजूद पंत ने शानदार शतक लगाते हुए मुश्किल समय से टीम को बाहर निकाला. पंत ने एजबेस्टन में पहले दिन 111 गेंदों पर 146 रनों की शानदार पारी खेली. साथ ही रवींद्र जडेजा ने नाबाद 83 रन की पारी खेली. पंत की बल्लेबाजी से पहले टीम के पांच विकेट के नुकसान पर 98 रन थे, जहां छठे विकेट के लिए पंत और जडेजा के बीच 222 रनों की साझेदारी हुई.

पंत की पारी को देखते हुए कई वर्तमान और पूर्व क्रिकेटरों ने युवा खिलाड़ी की प्रशंसा की. सचिन तेंदुलकर ने पंत की कुछ शानदार शॉट्स खेलते हुए तस्वीरें पोस्ट कीं और लिखा, बहुत बढ़िया. पंत ने अच्छी पारी खेली. स्ट्राइक को अच्छी तरह से घुमाया और अद्भुत शॉट खेले.
