कोलकाता : साल्टलेक स्टेडियम में खेले गए फाइनल मैच में मोहन बागान की टीम 17वीं बार डूरंड कप खिताब जीतने के इरादे से उतरी थी लेकिन उसे निराशा हाथ लगी. रोमांचक मैच में गोकुलम केरल ने 2-1 से मोहन बागान को मात दी.
साल्ट लेक स्टेडियम में खेले गये फाइनल में जोसफ ने पहले हाफ से ठीक पहले पेनल्टी को गोल में बदला और फिर 51वें मिनट में उन्होंने टीम की बढ़त को दोगुना कर दिया.

गोकुलम केरल एफसी के कप्तान मार्कस जोसेफ ने 2019 डूरंड कप के फाइनल में इस सीजन का अपना 10वां गोल किया. आपको बता दें कि 2017 में स्थापित की गई गोकुलम केरल ने भारत की सबसे प्रतिष्ठित फुटबॉल ट्रॉफी जीता.
केरल की किसी टीम ने 22 साल बाद एशिया के सबसे पुरानी प्रतियोगिता के खिताब को अपने नाम किया है. इससे पहले एफसी कोच्चि ने इस खिताब को जीता था.
