Narendra Modi Pay Tributes : पूर्व क्रिकेटर सलीम दुर्रानी का निधन हो गया. वो गुजरात के जामनगर में अपने भाई के घर रह रहे थे. दुर्रानी के निधन पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने ट्वीट कर श्रद्धांजलि दी.

नई दिल्ली : सलीम दुर्रानी के निधन पर क्रिकेटरों के साथ राजनीतिक लोगों नें भी शोक प्रकट किया है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भी सलीम के निधन पर ट्वीट कर दुख जताया. मोदी ने लिखा, 'सलीम दुर्रानी दिग्गज क्रिकेटर थे. वो अपने आप में क्रिकेट का संस्थान थे. उन्होंने भारत की क्रिकेट में बेहद योगदान दिया. मैं उनके निधन से आहत हूं. उसके परिवार तथा मित्रों के लिए संवेदनाएं. उसकी आत्मा को शांति मिले.

पीएम ने लिखा, 'गुजरात से सलीम दुर्रानी का गहरा रिश्ता रहा. वो कुछ साल तक सौराष्ट्र और गुजरात के लिए खेले. उन्होंने गुजरात को अपना घर भी बनाया. मैने उनसे एक बार बातचीत की. मैं उनके व्यक्तित्व से बेहद प्रभावित हुआ था. उनकी कमी जरूर खलेगी. सलीम का जन्म अफगानिस्तान में हुआ था. जन्म के कुछ साल बाद परिवार कराची में बस गया. तब कराची भारत का हिस्सा था. 1947 में जब देश का बंटवारा हुआ तो उनका परिवार भारत आया.

सलीम दुर्रानी के निधन पर बीसीसआई सचिव जय शाह सहित पूर्व क्रिकेटरों ने भी शोक प्रकट किया. वीवीएस लक्ष्मण ने भी ट्वीट कर भारत के पहले अर्जुन अवॉर्डी सलीम दुर्रानी को श्रद्धांजलि दी. रवि शास्त्री ने भी सलीम को कलरफुल क्रिकेटर बताते हुए श्रद्धांजलि दी. पीएम के अलावा कांग्रेस नेताओं और क्रिकेटरों ने भी ट्वीट कर टेस्ट क्रिकेटर के निधन पर शोक जताया.सलीम ने 1960 से 1973 तक भारत के लिए टेस्ट क्रिकेट खेली. 29 टेस्ट मैच में 1202 रन बनाए. उन्होंने 50 इनिंग में सात फिफ्टी लगाई थी. सलीम ने 1956 से 1978 तक राजस्थान के लिए भी क्रिकेट खेली.
