मुंबई मेट्रो के लिए आरे जंगल के विनाश का विरोध करने वाली बॉलीवुड हस्तियों में मनोज बाजपेई और दिया मिर्जा भी शामिल हो गए हैं. दोनों कलाकारों ने न केवल सरकार के आरे जंगल को नष्ट कर वहां मेट्रो कार शेड बनाने के फैसले का विरोध किया, बल्कि गुरुग्राम में रियल एस्टेट परियोजनाओं और मुंबई-अहमदाबाद बुलेट ट्रेन परियोजना के लिए ग्रीन कवर को नष्ट करने के खिलाफ भी आवाज उठाई.
दोनों कलाकारों ने गुरुवार की सुबह ट्वीट कर कहा, " 'विकास' के लिए ग्रीन कवर को नष्ट करने वाली मुंबई में आरे जंगल, गुरुग्राम में अरावली पहाड़ियां, बुलेट ट्रेन परियोजना के विनाशकारी परिणाम होने जा रहे हैं. अब वक्त है कि हम इसके खिलाफ हड़ताल करें. अपने शहर में 20-17 सितंबर को हैशटेगग्लोबलक्लाइमेटस्ट्राइकइंडिया में शामिल हों."
